Milpitas, CA: On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the Proclamation for Diwali the Hindu Festival of Lights was presented by the City of Milpitas Mayor Carmen Montana.
Fremont Mayor Montana presented the proclamation saying, “Indian community has made significant contributions to the City of Milpitas and Diwali represents the triumph of light over darkness, a message very relevant today”.
The Hindu community has been making big strides in contributing toward the fields of Technology, Medicine, Science, Finance, and Business. With strenuous efforts by Festival of Globe and others, the Hindu community’s efforts are now being increasingly recognized by many government, political, and administrative bodies as well.
Speaking on the occasion, Founder and Chairman, of Americans4Hindus, Festival of Globe (FOG), and Fremont Hindu Temple, Dr. Romesh Japra, highlighted how Diwali is the largest celebrated Indian festival. Hindus stand for progress and peace in the whole world and their contributions to the community at large. He said that it is time for the Hindu community to take the next step in their journey as proud Americans.
