Akshay Kumar, known as Bollywood’s Khiladi following his on-screen daredevilry and his string of Khiladi films, says he would love to give the title to his 10-year-old son Aarav in future.
“I would give this title Khiladi to my son after another 24 years,” Akshay told reporters during the trailer launch of his upcoming film Khiladi 786.
He thanks filmmaker duo Abbas-Mustan, who were the first to give him the title of Khiladi with the 1992 film of the same name.
“When I first entered the industry, they were the ones who gave me this tag ‘khiladi’. It is with me since then. After that, many films were made on Khiladi and this (Khiladi 786) is a Khiladi film I am doing after 12 years. So you can call this is a comeback film of Khiladi.”
The 45-year-old’s Khiladi series so far includes Khiladi (1992), Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Sabse Bada Khiladi (1995), Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi (1996), Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi (1997), International Khiladi (1999), and Khiladi 420 (2000).
He also made his TV debut as the host of action-adventure reality show Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi in 2009.
Akshay, who recently became a father to a daughter, says “I try to spend as much time possible (with her). As soon as I get done with my shooting and press conferences, I go and see her.”
