FREMONT, CA: Dr. Romesh Japra with his wife Sunita Japra held a grand Meet-n-Greet for Teresa Cox for Re-Election to Fremont City Council – Irvington District 6 with full house of over 200+ audience at Japra Mahal and Vineyards on June 2nd 2024. Ms. Cox previously served as Vice-Chair, Ohlone College Board of Trustees for 12 years; previously worked at the White House; and served on the Fremont Economic Advisory Commission serving with Dr. Japra.
On behalf of the Americans4Hindus, Dr. Japra, Founder/Chairman and Ritu Maheshwari, Vice-President endorsed Teresa Cox due to her civic leadership to advocate for unity and inclusivity, standing firmly against any form of prejudice or discrimination, recognized her commitment to not just Fremont but to California and American communities. Dr. Japra stated, “Through her significant contributions and devoted service, Teresa has established herself as an exemplary leader and defender of the rights of all citizens and strengthening community bonds and upholding the values that define our nation is truly commendable. We trust in her ability to be a beacon of progress and inspiration for all residents, making a positive difference in the lives of many.”
Teresa Cox is the first African American elected to Fremont City Council in almost 65 years and the first African American female graduated with a degree in nuclear engineering in the USA. Teresa is also appointed by the last 3 US Presidents to serve at the US Department of Commerce’s Export Council. Teresa is a proud mother of a son David, and a daughter Jackie, who were raised in Fremont and are in college.
Fog Telugu Chairperson/FOG Cultural Chair Jo Sharma and Arvind Kotha, FOG Telugu President under the leadership of Dr. Japra, Founder of FOG/FIA endorsed Teresa and presented a custom drawn portrait of Teresa with US American flag. Angela Tirado, Voice of the Bay Area sang “Star Spangled Banner” and “We Are Irvington”.
