CHICAGO: Host of the evening Iftekhar Shareef along with Federation of Indian Associations [FIA] and American Telugu Association [ATA] leaders, members of Hyderabad community, friends and cricket fans joined at the public reception in honor of visiting cricketing legend and Member of Parliament Mohammed Azharuddin at the Northshore Banquet Hall in Chicago recently.
Iftekhar Shareef, FIA Trustee Chairman and Ajai Agnihotri, FIA President welcomed the guests. Shareef introduced Mohammed Azharuddin, MP from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh as a legendary cricketer whose distinguished career is replete with remarkable episodes of great knocks with the bat. He said Azharuddin is playing an effective role as a people’s representative addressing their aspirations and needs.
Earlier, Keerthi Kumar Ravoori said Azhar has not only led the Indian team to triumphant victories sometimes under difficult circumstances but even as MP he is sparing no effort to work hard for and on behalf of the constituents of Moradabad, UP.
Sohan Joshi, Trustee of FIA, praised Mohammed Azharuddin as the cricketing star of India who crowned the cricket game with his extraordinary knocks.
ATA leaders Hanumanth Reddy, Founder-Trustee of American Telugu Association [ATA] presented floral bouquet, Karunakar Madhavaram, President-elect of American Telugu Association [ATA] thanked him for attending ATA convention in Atlanta. Among others greeting him were Kalyan Anandula, President of Telugu Association of Greater Chicago [TAGC] and Chicago Telugu leaders Narender Chemarla and Satyaranarayana Reddy.
The reception concluded with Minhaj Akhtar, Secretary of FIA, proposing a vote of thanks. The event was attended by a large number of community members.
