CHICAGO: A top ranking Chicago banker and a former officer with National Republic Bank, Dinesh Gandhi, is back in his own area of expertise in lending and investment with the launch of his finance company – Small Business Solutions.
“My principal aim ” he told India Post in a talk, “is to provide a facility to small and medium class business entrepreneurs get start up capital and finance for their ventures with ease which otherwise is a Herculean task in a tight fisted market now. I have lined up a number of financial institutions and banks so that the funds are available at competitive rates and attractive terms to the borrowers.”
Even though Small Business Solutions is a nascent firm, Dinesh Gandhi said it has helped finance a number of small and medium sized projects in Midwest region. Some of the recent ventures that got financed by his company, he pointed out, include Best Western Indiana ( $ 4 million ) Wingate IL ( $4.5 million ), Hampton Inn MI ($ 5 million) Independent Hotel IL ($ two million) , a missed use commercial building($2.5 million), commercial office bldg ($ 2 million and gas station, IL ($500,000).
Further, he said that he has proposals for financing over $70 million covering a gamut of businesses ranging from subways, Dunkin Donuts, gas stations, liquor stores, convenient stores and different brands of Pizza joints. “A good number of projects these types of projects are being helped by Small Business Solutions to get them on their feet and in the process, create more jobs and help boost the economy,” he said with obvious pride.
Dinesh Gandhi is not new in the finance world as a Director- Commercial Hospitality he was a doyen figure with the hotel motel owners financing over $ one billion of their projects, including new construction, acquisitions and renovations all over USA.
Besides his association with the Bank that he has served for 20 years, Dinesh Gandhi had also worked as owner-administrator of Lakeside Nursing Home, Uptown Nursing Home, Owner-Partner of Point South Motel, Mastyeer Host Inn Nashville TN and Vice President of JC Deagan Mfg. Co.
His passion for community service landed him with helping a number of community organizations like Care and Share USA, Chicago Delhi Sister City Committee, Key Coordinator of all Midwest Region conventions and town hall meetings of AAHOA, Gandhi Samaj of Chicago, Gayatri Temple Chicago and an active supporter of BAPS, among others.
He rendered a significant help to Gujarat earthquake victims, 9/11 Victims in New York a few years ago when working with American Indian Foundation of former president Bill Clinton. Collectively he helped them raise quarter million dollars to help those who suffered during these natural and man-made calamities.
His community work has been appreciated by BAPS, Jain Temple Bartlett, Gayatri Temple in Chicago, Indian Medical Association and other ethnic organizations and is bestowed with numerous awards recognizing his contributions to society at large. He feels confident that with his vast experience in the banking field and huge community support that he has gained over the years; his newly established company is set to carve out a big name and fame in the finance world.
