CHICAGO: The Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) Chicago with its president Ninad Daftari, and incoming president Gurmeet Singh Dhalwan along with the executive team, all board members, the advisory board, family and friends of FIA members and over 100 people gathered November 24 at Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center volunteering for the much-acclaimed program “Feed My Starving Children” (FMSC).
At this event, the FIA members and their friends and families helped pack 587 boxes which included approximately 126,792 meals that will feed 347 children for a year.
FMSC believes hope starts with food. As a Christian nonprofit, FMSC is dedicated to seeing every child whole in body and spirit. FMSC works with food distribution partners that stay with communities for the long haul, empowering them to move from relief to development.
FMSC meals are developed by food science and nutrition professionals to supplement nutritional needs and reduce problems with malnutrition. Nutrition allows children to grow, thrive and develop to their full potential. FMSC serves meals in over 70 countries and over one billion children have been fed.
Many members of FIA also donated to FMSC. The cause of FMSC is great and the FIA team felt that in this holiday season, one needs to give back to the community. FIA promised to continue serving the community with many such events in the future.
