CHCAGO: The Indian Consulate in Chicago, with the help of a good number of community organizations in the Midwest, plans to celebrate the fifth International Yoga Day in Chicagoland June 15 at Naperville Sports Complex in Naperville, a southside suburb of Chicago.
Talking to Indian media here at the Consulate office in downtown Chicago earlier this month, Indian Consul General Sudhakar Dalela said that the event will commence at 9.30 a.m.and is likely to see the participation of local dignitaries and many non-Indians too.
Dalela pitched for creating awareness all around observing that the celebration has no religious significance in as much as yoga thought originating from India has world-wide following, including some countries in Middle east.
The media meet was attended by over 15 representatives of print, radio and TV media. The Indian Consulate has set up a special cell to oversee a grand success of the event besides getting constructive suggestions promptly responded to.
