FREMONT, CA: This year’s Festival of Globe 2016 was a huge success. The signature event FOG India Day Fair and Grand Parade witnessed record breaking gathering. Everyone in the community enthusiastically participated with friends and family in this year’s festivities.
Randeep Hooda, Gulshan Grover, Laura Turner, Raima Sen and Prosenjit added additional oomph to the celebrations. One key feature this year was a vastly increased number of walking groups, organized by local community organizations. Parade area was filled with patriotic slogans and proclamations of “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata ki Jai”.
For the three hours during the Parade, the distance between India and US seemed to have vanished, and whole Fremont came alive with the colorful ensembles and cultural programs led by beautifully decorated floats representing all parts of India.
Speakers credited FOG Founder and Convener Dr. Romesh Japra for his leadership and the volunteers for their incessant efforts to make the FOG events successful. This year FOG media partners went beyond their normal support in promoting and covering the event. There were multiple TV channels telecasting the Parade live.
FOG 2016 successfully brought the world’s largest and oldest democracies together, while imbibing the youngsters with the culture and values that community practices in making the adopted land of dreams their own.
