FREMONT, CA: On October 14th, 2025, Fremont City Council recognized the immense contributions Hindu community has made toward growth and development of city in economic, cultural, spiritual and social spheres. City council has proclaimed October as Hindu Heritage month.
FOG (Festival of Globe) Founder, Dr. Romesh Japra received Fremont City Proclamation from the city mayor Dr. Raj Salwan. The City recognized the excellent work Hindu community is doing in bringing the community together and contributing in making Fremont happiest city in the country.
Dr. Romesh Japra said, “Hindu values and culture is very relevant today. Hindu values of ‘Vaasudeiva Kutambakam’ or, world is one family; unites communities and believes in helping everyone. We as a society can only grow and be happy when we work together and help each other.”

HINDU HERITAGE MONTH
OCTOBER 2025
WHEREAS, the City of Fremont recognizes the vibrant Hindu community that calls
Fremont home, whose members have made significant contributions to the City’s cultural, educational, technological, and economic growth; and
WHEREAS, Hinduism, one of the world’s oldest living traditions, promotes
values of truth, non-violence, respect for all life, and harmony with nature; and
WHEREAS, Fremont’s Hindu community enriches the city through its temples, cultural organizations, volunteer efforts, and celebrations of festivals such as Diwali and Holi,
fostering unity and diversity; and
WHEREAS, Hindu Heritage Month is an opportunity to honor the rich traditions,
teachings, and achievements of the Hindu community and their positive impact
on Fremont’s development and character.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Fremont hereby proclaims the month
of October as Hindu Heritage Month in the City of Fremont and encourages all residents
to celebrate and learn more about Hindu culture, philosophy, and contributions.
