FREMONT, CA: Over the last few days, the Fresno community has come together to show support for Piara Singh, the 82 year old Sikh who was brutally attacked during his early morning walk home from his local Gurdwara.
Earlier, Sikh Coalition staff members visited Piara Singh in the hospital and spoke with family members to assess immediate and long-term needs.
In addition, the Sikh Coalition attended a community forum and press conference, organized by local community members at the Fresno Nanaksar Gurdwara, for a discussion of the investigation into the attack on Piara Singh. The press conference included impacted family members, Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and the FBI.
The community forum and press conference provided an opportunity for community members to engage directly with the police department and US Attorney’s office in a question and answer session.
