Sri Bala Ganapathi Homam

FREMONT: Ganesha Mahotsav, one of the biggest Indian festivals of the year, began with a bang at the Fremont Hindu Temple on September 18. With the elaborate festivities, this will be the largest Ganapati celebration in US. Hundreds of devotees from across the Bay Area are gathering here every day to venerate the remover of obstacles, Lord Ganesha.
Tuesday was Bala Ganapathi Homam and Abhishek. On Ganesha Mahotsav, Siddhi Vinayak temple was completely decked with decorations. Beautifully decorated Ganapathi blessed the devotees.
Organizers at Fremont Hindu Temple will be conducting Maha Yagnas daily for the thirteen days of this beautiful festival. Renowned artists will be performing, making sure this year’s celebrations will be the best yet. Decorating statues of Lord Ganesha uniquely every day, culminating with immersion in the ocean, the festival promises to be absolutely wonderful for those seeking spiritual fulfillment!
Just as you see Ganapati in different incarnations in Mumbai or Hyderabad, you can see a different style of Ganapati decoration everyday in the temple. Ganesh visarjan will be held on September 30 in Ocean onboard a specially chartered ship. Devotees from San Francisco Bay Area will gather on the ship for visarjan to complete the festival.
