PHAGWARA: To mark the International Yoga Day, GNA University organized Yoga activities at its campus June 21.
Around 100 of GNA’S NSS Volunteers, hostel students and faculty members participated in the Yoga Day full of activities with an objective to follow the daily regime of a healthy and fit body.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr V.K. Rattan, Vice Chancellor, GNA University, said: “India is the home of yoga where it was practised for over centuries.”
He urged students and faculty to make the practice of yoga an integral part of their life as it provides mental and physical strength. He expressed his happiness to see that the employees of GNA University participated enthusiastically to remember the international yoga Day with full fervour.
Gurdeep Singh Sihra, Pro-Chancellor, GNA University, conveyed his best wishes to all on International Yoga Day and congratulated the NSS Division and the Sports Division of GNA University for celebrating the day with full vigour and enthusiasm.
He also stressed, “Yoga postures and exercises are very important for all of us in this hectic world to reduce stress and maintain mind and body balance.”
Lucky, a renowned yoga trainer from Jalandhar, took the yoga session for all the participants of the University. He not only made the participants practice all the yoga postures but also updated in detail about the importance of practising yoga in our daily life.
Promoting the International Yoga Day, Narendra Awasthi, Registrar, GNA University, congratulated all the participants and urged the others to follow beneficial Yoga practices as a part of their daily regime.
He said, “Yoga exercises are the useful tools to provide cheerfulness and peace from within.”
