JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra has called for implementation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India Campaign’ for improving ease of doing business in the state.
Vohra urged Financial Commissioner, Industries and Commerce, Khurshid Ahmad Ganai to personally review and finalise all the measures which need to be taken to implement the ‘Make in India Campaign’, a Raj Bhawan spokesperson said.
He also urged Ganai to ensure early finalisation of the Trade and Industrial Policy of the state.
G R Sufi, state Chief Information Commissioner, and Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, Financial Commissioner, Industries and Commerce, had meetings with Vohra, here at the Raj Bhavan last evening.
Ganai briefed the Governor about issues relating to industrial promotion, entrepreneurial environment and the status of cottage and village industries, handicrafts and handloom sector in the state.
The Governor stressed the importance of every possible effort being made to secure balanced growth of the state through sustainable utilisation of all available natural resources, the spokesperson said.
Sufi apprised the Governor about initiatives taken by the Commission since its establishment for enabling the implementation of the ‘Right To Information (RTI) Act 2009’ in Jammu and Kashmir and the continuing efforts being made to enhance awareness of the masses regarding their right to seek relevant information from all public offices under the act.
The Governor discussed with Sufi the measures which need to be taken to speed up the process of transparency in the governance system.–PTI
