Deepika Padukone, who will play an out-of-work bar dancer in ‘Happy New Year’, says she is working hard to be a great dancer in the film.
“Farah had a list of do’s for the actress. I will prepare for it like any other film. If I am required to be a great dancer in the film, I will have to work damn hard. She wants a girl who is Maharashtrian, good dancer and has a specific look,” Deepika said.
Her character in the film influences the lives of her co-stars Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Vivaan Shah and Boman Irani –
as all of them are dancers and Deepika will help them win a dance trophy.
Deepika is riding high on the success of her last three releases – Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express. But the records aren’t putting much pressure on Deepika.
“I take each film as it comes. I put same kind of effort for Ram-Leela as in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express. I have done the film with the same kind of hard work, conviction and honesty. I hope the end result is same as my previous films,” Deepika said.
