LOS ANGELES, CA: October 26, Gujaratis of North America (GONA) and Love Sports proudly hosted the Gujarati Unity Festival Diwali Celebration at the Sanatan Dharma Temple Hall, bringing together the vibrant Gujarati community in a dazzling evening of culture, pride, and togetherness.
The grand event hosted by GONA President, Pramod Mistry, and his dedicated team of volunteers, was generously sponsored by Dr. Jagdish & Harsha Patel along with several community philanthropists.
The celebration opened with a soul-stirring live bhajan performance by Bhavik Haria from the U.K., whose devotional melodies and garba tunes set the perfect festive mood. Mansi Mehra masterfully emceed the evening with grace and charm.
A highlight of the night was the recognition of “Eight Jewels of Los Angeles” — inspiring women behind successful men, honored with plaques and a standing ovation: Harsha Patel, Rika Shah, Pushpa Patel, Usha Wadher, Nalini Solanki, Rekha Bajaria, Dr. Daksha Jain Kapadia, and Preeti Shah.
The audience was captivated by a thought-provoking presentation and interview with Shantanu Gupta, acclaimed writer, storyteller, and producer known for his works on Ramayana. The evening concluded with roaring laughter during a stand-up comedy act by U.S.-born Indian comedian Rajiv Satyal, leaving the crowd delighted.
The celebration drew an impressive lineup of dignitaries and community leaders, including Dr. Jaggi Patel, B.U. Patel, Manu Shah, Dr. Arvind Mehta, Dr. Harisinh Chauhan, Kanaksinh Zala, Dr. Anil Shah, Jawhar Shah, Ketan Sharma, Chatur Patel, Jagdish Purohit, Rasik Patel, Chiman Adial, Rashmi Gandhi, Varun Gandhi, Dr. Manoj Shah, Tulasi Savani, Smita Parmar, Sidd Shah, Adhir Shah, Bhavin Mehta, Dr Gunvant & Ila Mehta and Shailesh Mehta.
The evening concluded with a sumptuous Gujarati dinner by Jaybharat, perfectly wrapping up a night that celebrated unity, culture, and the true festive spirit of Diwali.
