ST LOUIS: Gujarati Samaj of St. Louis organized its annual picnic at Lakeside Parks in St.Peters, Mo with some 300 members, friends, and well-wishers participating in the pleasant outing.
Besides a full-scale social interaction and games, the highlight of the picnic was enchanting and mouth-watering boiled peanuts, Ratalupuri, Batakapuri at the beginning of picnic.
Members enjoyed at the lake with boating and renting kayak and lounging at lakeside.
The Indian food served to members included Dal Dhokri and St Louis’ famous Ted Drews frozen custard.
If all the guests enjoyed the picnic, credit goes to dedication and hard work by members, volunteers and officers of Gujarati Samaj of St. Louis.
Gujarati Samaj of St. Louis came into existence in 1984 with the efforts of some community leaders to preserve, protect and personify the eastern values, to make children participate in celebrating traditional festivals, and to provide platform to all Gujaratis to come together to meet, greet, entertain and celebrate the heritage.
It also arranges programs to commemorate important Gujarati festivals and events and invites dignitaries and artists from Gujarat and India to perform for the benefit of the members.
