NEW YORK: In honor of International Yoga Day 2019 that was observed June 21, a New York-based person of Indian origin, Tirlok Malk, launched Happy Life Yoga, an educational platform that offers holistic approach to health and happiness.
In a packed auditorium at the Goddard Riverside’s Bernie Wohl Center June 29, the curtain raiser event for this educational platform was inaugurated by New York Deputy Consul General of India Shatrughna Sinha.
Manhattan Borough President Gale A. Brewer, who was the chief guest, participated in the workshop and spoke in support of the initiative. Many other VIPs were in attendance as well. The event was hosted by Indian Panorama and Indian American Forum.
This intriguing, interactive, and entertaining experience included a panel discussion on topics such as how to use ayurveda in everyday life, the place of Western medicine in holistic wellness, and the benefits of yoga, a press release stated. Speakers included Dr Bhupendra Patel, Dr Bhaswati Bhattacharya, and Long Island yoga teacher Ranju Narang.
Happy Life Yoga is the creation of Tirlok Malik and the Ayurveda Cafe team. Malik is a restaurateur, happy lifestyle speaker, and a New York Emmy-nominated filmmaker. He has been promoting ayurveda on the Upper West Side for the last 20 years.
The Happy Life Yoga educational platform “offers a unique holistic approach to health and happiness using tools from ayurveda, Indian philosophy, and yoga to help better manage modern day challenges such as work, finances, relationships, family and other social pressures and ultimately guides you towards a happier life”, the press statement said.
Indu Jaiswal of The Indian American Forum, one of the oldest organizations of Indian Americans on Long Island, and Indrajit Saluja, publisher and editor of the Indian Panorama, an Indian American newspaper hosted the launch event.
