Extreme-short-attention-span syndrome of individuals has forced media businesses to rethink strategies to attract readership. Their effort has resulted in deceitful, dishonest publications, sometimes. It has become important that readers use judgment to validate the report. In essence, it can be proven that true journalism is under tremendous danger. In the information age, readers don’t take time to investigate stories. Often, people read the headlines and form a dangerous opinion. So, whose fault is it? The media outlets that propagate lies? Or is it the consumers who blindly accept the lies? What about the organizations in between?
On April 21, 2020, (CNN) published the article: Study finds no benefit, higher death rate in patients taking hydroxychroloquine for Covid-19 with an opening statement, “Coronavirus patients taking hydroxychloroquine, a treatment touted by President Trump, were no less likely to need mechanical ventilation and had higher deaths rates compared to those who did not take the drug, according to a study of hundreds of patients at US Veterans Health Administration medical centers.”
Note the Headline and the opening statement. Now, I will take you through a short journey to prove to you, how this headline is filled with deception, trickery and is simply a lie. QUICK GLANCE AT THE RESEARCH STUDY
Research Study was posted on MedRxiv.org (a preprint server), that (1) was NOT peer-reviewed (2) nor published in a medical journal.
Patients – Risk of death: ‘Compared to the NO-HC group, the risk of death from any cause was higher in the HC group’ was not considered in the conclusion
Study conclusion: (1) Although, the HC patients had a higher risk of death, the study concluded that ‘An association of increased overall mortality was identified in patients treated with hydroxychloroquine alone’. (2) Notice, the rates of ventilation are higher in No-HC vs. HC group patients but the study did NOT mention that.
SO, HERE ARE MY QUESTIONS
WHY do you suppose MedRxiv.org drew such an alarming conclusion? Or rather, NOT draw some obvious conclusion?
WHY CNN missed disclosing important information about the fact that HC patients were much sicker and their risk of death was much higher from any cause.
Media successfully pushed narratives to malign President Trump for the last 3.5 years. When such articles are published, the ‘never-Trumpers and Trump-haters’ are quick to dump the headlines on the rest. An example is here. India supplies Hydroxychloroquine to 55 Chinese-coronavirus-hit countries, including the United States. CNN contributors, Elizabeth Cohen and Dr. Minali Nigam continue to push theories, such as – ‘Growing body of evidence suggests drugs may not help patients at all, Trump has repeatedly touted the drugs, despite lack of evidence’.
CONNECTING THE DOTS
Networks such as CNN are not a trusted resource anymore. It is not about Hydroxychloroquine at all. It is about resisting President Trump and undermining every single word that comes from the President to mislead people, inciting extreme division and ousting President Trump from his seat…a vicious political agenda propagated by the liberal media and communication arms such as CNN, MSNBC and NPR. CNN or the media channels are not alone in this conspiracy. Everything is connected. Here, we can clearly see, even the study conclusion was faulty.
President Trump was utterly criticized for restricting international flights, when leaders of the opposition political party (Democrats) deeply mocked him, called him ‘racist’, and resisted his every directive. What do you think CNN (mainstream media) is influenced by? I call the global liberal media outlets as the communication arm of the Democrat Party.
Ask yourself – Who are these media outlets working for? Where is journalism? Can we expect honesty? Or is it too much to ask for?
President Trump is the first U.S. President who stood by India in a manner we have never seen before. India is no longer under communist-dominated parties, although they continue to push their agenda funded by foreign-sponsored globalist organizations.
Recent desperate stunts by so called Indian-American elected Democrat officials and compromised organizations such as United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) and United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHCR) by issuing outrageous anti-Hindu and anti-Indian statements in a deliberate attempt to defame Hindus and malign India (Hindustan), on the world stage, was their awful last-resort.
Although 95% of Indian-Americans are traditionally democrats and support democrat candidates, as a Hindu-American, I optimistically see this as a rightful push for the Indian-Americans shifting towards the conservative Republican party and overwhelmingly supporting President Trump in 2020.
Until next time.
