CHICAGO: It has been ten years in the making. And being a pioneer in promoting Hindi in the USA since 2010, the Hindi Club of Illinois (HCI) has seen its share of trials and tribulations. Now as we all cope with the current COVID-19 it takes peal sure still in announces its 10th year anniversary Hindi Divas celebration.
This two-day festivity called ‘Do-divas-Hindi-Mahotsav’ event will take place on Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13 online. It will also be carried live on Facebook.
HCI happy to acknowledge that this event has full support of the Consulate General of India, Chicago and will have. Amit Kumar, the Consul General as its Chief Guest. Guests of Honor will include Narendra Chanchal, renowned Bollywood, and Devotional singer; Aalok Shrivastava, famed Poet, Lyricist and TV journalist and Ashok Lav, a well known Hindi author and President of Sarv Bhasha Trust, New Delhi.
The September 12 event will have competitive categories for kids and adults in Elocution, Songs, Dances, Dress to Impress and Poetry. We are inviting participants from the USA and Canada to showcase their skills in these categories. Please visit HCI website www.hindiclub.org for registration, rules and eligibility. Top three places in each category will be awarded gift certificate and all participants will receive a certificate of participation. Highlights of September 13 event include a roundtable discussion among chosen global Hindi scholars followed by a virtual KavayaGoshti with high caliber Hindi poets from India and the US. There will also be short plays and assortment of regional dances of India during these festivities.
