NOIDA: Principal Advisor to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation E Sreedharan was today awarded the Degree of Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) by Mahamaya Technical University on its first convocation.
Uttar Pradesh Governor and Chancellor of the university, B L Joshi gave the honorary degree to Sreedharan, who is popularly known as ‘Metroman’.
Speaking on the occasion, Sreedharan said, “Technical education should not be merely a mean to get into a job, but should equip and mould students as true nation builders.”
“This can be achieved not by imparting only knowledge of subject, but by instilling high moral values and a passion for acquiring more knowledge and experience,” he said.-PTI
