Celebrate the New Year 2021! You might wonder how you can celebrate amid the suffering caused by this pandemic. Despite the challenges you might be facing, celebrate because bliss is inherent in your consciousness.
Happiness is a state of mind and has an external cause. It is a law of nature that anything that has an external cause cannot be everlasting. In contrast, bliss belongs to your own inner being and is your true nature. Rather than seeking temporary happiness, why not seek everlasting bliss? Once you connect to your innermost bliss, you will be able to witness your happiness as well as unhappiness.
Although everyone has the bliss of consciousness twenty-four hours aday, not everyone can be blissful without tuning intotranscendentalawareness called Turiya. Turiya is beyond the three states of mind: waking (visva), dreaming (taijasa), and deep sleep (prajna). Whether you are awake, dreaming, or asleep, turiya is ever-present.
Just as butter pervades milk, so also bliss pervades every moment, underneath all three states of mind. Just as you have to churn milk to bring out the hidden butter, you have to meditate to experience the hidden bliss. As you meditate, you become established in the ever-blissful turiya. In turiya, you exist but you are not a man or a woman, Hindu or Muslim, Jew or Christian, black or white – all distinctions disappear.
Remember, every day is a gift from God. So, be grateful. Celebrate every moment of this glorious New Year 2021. Have fun but along with that have the experience of the everlasting bliss within.
Have a BLISSFUL New Year 2021!
