Golden milk is easy to make at home. It contains antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds and offers innumerable health benefits. Turmeric milk is believed to have calming properties, and likely to reduce inflammation and soothe the nervous system. Drinking warm turmeric milk before bedtime can promote relaxation and improve sleep quality.
For a single serving or one cup of golden milk, simply follow this recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (120ml) of an unsweetened milk of your choice
- 1 tsp of turmeric
- 1 small piece of grated fresh ginger or 1/2 tsp of ginger powder
- 1/2 tsp of cinnamon powder
- 1 pinch of ground black pepper
- 1 tsp of honey or maple syrup (optional)
Directions:
- To make the golden milk, simply mix all ingredients in a small pot and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes or until fragrance releases and becomes flavorful.
- Strain the drink through a fine strainer into a mug and garnish it with a pinch of cinnamon.
- Make a fresh drink every time you want to drink for effective benefits.
