Founded in 2004 by brothers Anand Pabari and Gopal Pabari, India Bazaar is built upon the strength of a seven-generation family heritage in the spice and grocery trade. Anand, originally from Gujarat, arrived in the United States at age 18 with great determination and a big dream. Within a few years, with the help of his parents, he opened his first Indian grocery store in Plano, Texas — a humble beginning that sparked a major retail movement.

The success of India Bazaar soon paved the way for new ventures. The launch of the Grain Market brand and its wholesale division marked the group’s first expansion, quickly growing into a thriving business network. Today, India Bazaar and its affiliates proudly operate ten locations across the Dallas area. Beyond Texas, the brand continues to grow under the name Indiaco, with active stores in Chicago and Atlanta, and more in development.

The group continues to diversify with new ventures such as Rajula’s Kitchen, Gharbazaar Home Delivery, Bazaar Builders & Developers, and Pushpa Flowers—each reflecting a commitment to innovation, community, and cultural connection.

Quality remains at the heart of India Bazaar’s ethos. India Bazaar and Grain Market prioritize premium products at affordable prices, sourcing directly from farmers, manufacturers, and major suppliers across multiple countries. Their India-based quality-control team conducts rigorous checks and ensures fair pricing, allowing customers to receive exceptional value.

Anand attributes long-term success to truly understanding the marketplace—its needs, sensitivities, and cultural expectations—and responding with integrity and insight.

A Leader Who Believes in Empowerment

Anand is a strong advocate for women’s empowerment and consistently promotes equal opportunity across all fields. Inspired by his mother, he believes women are natural multitaskers who excel when given the right platform. Across India Bazaar’s ventures, women form a powerful and integral part of the workforce, contributing with excellence, efficiency, and dedication.

Message to Young Entrepreneurs

Anand shares three core principles for new entrepreneurs:

  1. Dedication — Give your best to everything you do.
  2. Focus — Keep your vision sharp and your goals in sight.
  3. Honesty — Stay truthful to your work, your customers, and your values.

He encourages the next generation to embrace technology—especially AI—to enhance productivity, decision-making, and growth. “Listen widely, learn continuously, and then choose the path that serves you best,” he advises.

On November 13, 2025, Anand received the prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year award from the US-India Chamber of Commerce DFW—a testament to his leadership and impact.

A Relationship Built on Trust

Entrepreneur and prominent grocery-brand distributor based out of California, Mr. Jay Parikh, CEO of Nijay International Inc., first met Anand in 2004 when Anand was running his first store in Plano. What immediately impressed him was Anand’s ambition, discipline, and—above all—his unwavering honesty. Anand never compromises on quality or fair pricing, values Mr. Parikh deeply admires.

Mr. Parikh expresses his strong desire to continue working alongside Anand Pabari, with hopes that Grain Market and its affiliated ventures reach even greater heights, and that both businesses continue to grow together in partnership and trust.
