Indian National flag hoisted at San Francisco City Hall in symbol of friendship and unity

SAN FRANCISCO, CA: The Indian National Flag was ceremonially hoisted at the iconic San Francisco City Hall in a moment of pride, unity, and celebration of the strong cultural ties between India and the United States. The flag hoisting was led by Penny Coulter, Chief of Staff for Protocol, representing the City and County of San Francisco.

The event was attended by Dr. Srikar Reddy, Consul General of India in San Francisco (CGISF) and DCG Rajesh Adhlaka, underscoring the significance of the occasion and the enduring partnership between India and the Silicon Valley. The presence of the Consul General highlighted India’s close engagement with local governments and the vibrant Indian diaspora in Northern California.

San FranciscoSeveral community members, civic leaders, and representatives from diverse organizations graced the occasion, reflecting San Francisco’s multicultural spirit and, active role played by the Indian-American community in the city’s social, cultural and economic life.

The ceremony served as a powerful reminder of shared democratic values, mutual respect, and the growing people-to-people connections between India and the United States. Attendees expressed pride in witnessing the Indian tricolor flying at one of San Francisco’s most prominent landmarks, symbolizing friendship, inclusivity, and global cooperation.
