Kareena Kapoor is playing a “hard-headed TV reporter” in Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha. But not many know that Bebo is also likely to be seen as a strong female Prime Minister – post her character’s metamorphosis – in the multi-starrer socio-political drama.
And the actor wants to go all out. She plans to imbibe the “sturdy body language and temperament” of real-life leaders like the late Indira Gandhi (former Indian Prime Minister), Benazir Bhutto (former Pakistan PM) and even Margaret Thatcher (former PM of the UK).
“Bebo’s character isn’t based on any real life person. But since her role is of a strong and opinionated woman, she wants to watch some documentaries, films and hear fiery speeches to get the hang of what really goes on in the mind of a powerful female personality,” says an insider close to her.
After Heroine’s release, Bebo plans to start doing as much research as she can. While Bebo couldn’t be reached for a comment, Jha says with a smile. “Do you want me to reveal the entire storyline? I can’t talk about her character right now.”
Interestingly, Jha’s Raajneeti (2010) saw Katrina Kaif playing a politician. Congress chief Sonia Gandhi apparently inspired her role.
