After Kai Po Che, director Abhishek Kapoor and UTV Motion Pictures are ready to roll out their next collaboration, Fitoor. The film will see Katrina Kaif pairing up with Aditya Roy Kapur for the first time. However, the casting coup, according to the makers, was getting Rekha on board.
An adaptation of Charles Dickens’ novel Great Expectations, the film explores love in its raw form. The story revolves around a young Kashmiri lad Noor (Aditya), his muse Firdaus (Katrina) and the mercurial Begum (Rekha). Each one is a catalyst, but at the same time, a puppet in destiny’s hand.
The movie, scripted by Supratik Sen and Abhishek, will be shot across North India, including Delhi and Kashmir, and also at an international destination. Says the director, “I constantly strive to blend challenging themes and engaging narratives. Fitoor has a vision and a soul, and now we’ll give it a form and a voice.” His production house Guy In The Sky Pictures is also on board as co-producer.
Siddharth Roy Kapur (MD, Disney India) says, “We have always believed in the unmatched power of a great story. We are thrilled to help Abhishek tell this classic tale of love.”
