Mother’s Day is round the corner and MMNA Sakhi NWC (Maheshwari Mahasabha of North America) – North West Coast Chapter celebrated this on May 5th. 2024 in Desi Contemporary Restaurant in Campbell, California. Sakhis of all ages ranging from 25-75 years old attended the celebration and had splendid time. It was a musical themed afternoon with variety of performances from different musical eras by Sakhis along with game – Sakhi ka Musical Muqaabla. The icing on the cake was the live performance by Bay Area Diva singer Tanya Gupta who mesmerized the audience with hit numbers from Bollywood.
Infant hygiene and women’s sanitation product drive, was supported generously by the members. Kudos to the Sakhi team and prominent volunteers – Shailja Maroo, Sandhya Bagdi, Ankita Phophalia, Kavita Malani and Shruti Maheshwari for this event and bringing the community together musically. Sakhi Shailaja Maroo said “When Sakhis get together and take up an initiative, results are stunning and we will continue to bring community together in similar future events.“
