CHICAGO: The Indian Community Outreach (ICO), supported by City of Naperville, has announced hosting of the Fourth India Day Grand Parade and Celebration to mark 71 Years of India’s Independence and commemorate the diversity and heritage of the Indian community.
India Day celebration in just in three years has turned out to be one of the biggest Indian American festivals in the country bringing Chicago land & Midwest community together to experience Indian culture and heritage through parade, education, food & entertainment.
It was attended by over thousands of people in 2017 and it wouldn’t be out of place to expect a significant growth in attendance this year. This event is free for everyone and the organizers plan to cover coast by coat sponsorships from businesses / corporate /organizations.
The 2018 India Day Celebration will feature large decorated floats displaying cultures of India in the Parade, colorful Indian folk, classical & modern dances, food, drinks, heath fair, children area, fashion show, concert, shopping of Indian ethnic dresses/jewelry. The grand fireworks will be the highlights. Sukhwinder Singh, India’s Bollywood Rock Star, would entertain the evening crowd. India Day is also featured celebration this year in State of Illinois Bi-Centennial celebrations.
The guests expected to attend include Governor of Illinois, Lt. Governor, Mayor of Naperville and other surrounding cities, Congressmen, Senators, several elected state and local representatives and community leaders.
