NFIA elects new office bearers for year 2023

The National Federation of Indian American Associations (NFIA) held their elections in end December 2022 and elected the new board for the calendar year 2023. Ms. Raj Razdan who was unopposed became the new president of NFIA while all other office bearers were elected for various positions and were also unopposed. The installation ceremony of the new board members was conducted via virtual video-conference (Zoom). Preceding the Oath ceremony, a motion was passed to appoint Mr. Babu Bhai Patel as the Chair of the NFIA foundation, Dr. Hari Har Singh as the Executive Director, Administration for the calendar years 2023 and 2024. Mr. Subash Razdan was appointed as the Chairperson of the Bye-Laws Committee.

The newly elected officers for the year 2023 are:

• Vice President – Public Relations: Ashok (Pat) Patnaik (Based in CA)
• Vice President – Membership: Aparna Hande (Based in CA)
• Vice President – Fund Raising: Satish Parikh (Based in OH)
• Secretary: Dr. Sukrit Mukherjee (Based in CA)
• Joint Secretary: Kamlesh Munshi (Based in MD)
• Treasurer: Dr. Om Sharma (Based in MD)
• Directors-At-Large
• Sudip Gorakshakar (Based in CA)
• Lalita Kaul (Based in MD)
• Madhavan Anirudhan (Based in VA)
• Ramesh Chauhan (Based in CA)

In her acceptance Speech, RajRazdan, thanked the Membership Committee, the Nomination Committee and the Election committee for the outstanding and credible work done to enroll new members of NFIA and thus elect new officers of NFIA for 2023 in a timely manner. She further added that she is grateful to the membership-at-large for bestowing the confidence and trust to assume the leadership role for the year 2023 and looked forward to working with the entire team. Raj Razdan further alluded that “the last 35 years have been a transformative journey for NFIA as we traversed the landscape of nonprofits searching for scalable solutions by dependable organizations transforming the image of NFIA”.

Lastly, she thanked her family and well-wishers for the support that they have shown during the last several years when she played an important role in NFIA as well as the various organizations that she served.
