CHICAGO: OFBJP (Overseas Friends of BJP) celebrated the historic victory of BJP in the recently concluded elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarkhand, Goa and Manipur. This event was held on Saturday March 25 at the Rana Reagan Center in Carol Stream, a suburb of Chicago.
OFBJP National General Secretary Amar Upadhyay started with a warm welcome to the Bharatiya senior citizens group, United Senior Citizens group, OFBJP, VHPA and HHS members who were present at the event with a total strength of more than two hundred. He passed on his congratulatory message to the newly appointed Chief Minister of UP Yogi Aadityanath, Chief Minister of Uttarkhand Trivendra Singh Rawat, Chief Minister of Manipur N Biren Singh and Chief Minister of Goa Shri Manohar Parrikar.
Upadhyay shared his experiences and hard work with Rohit Joshi and others during the UP election campaign. They took the time to go all the way to UP and does the leg work before the campaign.
After the welcome speech a Deep Prajavalan ceremony was conducted where Rohit Joshi invited the Guest of Honor Dr. Bharat Barai, Khemchandji from the Delhi BJP unit along with Nirav Patel and others OFBJP members.
Rohit Joshi in his address talked about some of the challenges that currently existed in UP and the work that needs to be done after experiencing the situation first hand in this State. Nirav Patel highlighted the importance of contributing to the New India pledge as envisioned by PM Modiji. The hope and aspirations of New India need to be fulfilled by contributions from all, he observed.
BJP Communication cell Convener Khemchand talked about the upcoming elections for the Municipal cooperation of Delhi. He also shared ways to contribute to this election campaign through social media, use of voluntary services by making phone calls and any resources that could make a positive impact for BJP Delhi unit. He also pointed out that Kejriwal had over promised and under delivered on those promises. To ensure Delhi sees a comprehensive development, it was important for Delhi to form a BJP government under PM Modiji’s visionary leadership.
Dr Bharat Barai shared his experiences with PM Modiji from way back in the 1990s when he was just a party Karyakarta. Even in those days he called on all overseas Indians to have a deeper connect with India and preserve its rich cultural heritage. He expressed great faith in the current BJP regime to lead India to a promising new dawn.
The three-hour program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by OFBJP Chicago Youth convener Nirav Patel.
