Not everything has to be politics. Especially, Policing. Law enforcement is the single biggest duty of the Head of State as mentioned in my second book, the Making of a Statesman. It is the duty of the government to provide security to all sections of society.
But especially more to that section which supports nation building. The law has to protect the rights of all citizens. No nation can become great if they ignore the security of its citizens. Politics and law enforcement are two separate subjects. Politics is for making laws to protect citizens. Law enforcement is to protect the laws. Political correctness is almost like compromising law and law enforcement both. It is also against Dharma that stands for truth and justice. When justice is delayed the government loses trust of the people it intends to govern.
The USA is strong because the system of Law Enforcement is very independent of the influence of lawmakers. The prosecution via District attorney is almost impenetrable by lawmakers. Even though political correctness and accompanying corruption is creeping into American justice system, nonetheless it is still pretty clean of political interference in most areas of law enforcement.
The forensics departments of American justice system are highly advanced and justice is promptly delivered. Media still cannot influence the justice and law enforcement. That makes the US a fertile ground for innovation and economic growth. A state, which has a compromised system of truth and justice, cannot survive for long.
Policing is an important aspect of keeping sanctity of law. Proactive policing depends on a sound intelligence and in today’s world even social media especially WhatsApp & Facebook messenger. In recent times it has been validated by all American case studies where the criminals have extensively used free messenger services to coordinate their nefarious actions. Police have always kept an upper hand on arsonists and Terrorists. The riots have been effectively dealt with from their perspective whether it was Ferguson or Seattle.
The recent pictures of two Hindu saints being brutally handed over to killers by Indian police has shaken the conscience of many Americans as to the effectiveness of Indian policing. There were other pictures of police running away from rioters, arsonists and criminals showing India in a poor light.
Indian nationalists may not like interference of American agencies but they also need to know that human rights apply to all sections of society and not just a few who can make more noise. Americans also know that a particular section of Muslim community worked against the state working even against the government guidelines. This criminal act was not publicly acted upon by Indian state agencies. That’s why most Americans are not attracted to invest in India.
American investors will prefer Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand to India because of their stronger law enforcement. Political correctness in the matters of state policing reflects India very poorly in international circles. No amount of excellent work being down by its Foreign office will dilute that fact.
India hoping a business & investment windfall from America or Europe will remain illusory unless Indian policing improves. Indian leftist Media will do everything possible to disrupt that investment. China has everything to regain the trust of Americans and Europeans, particularly because of their law enforcement and stability in social justice.
Their methods of governance are the least of concern for investors because for investors profit is all that matters.
The public perception of China today is the worst for Americans because of social media. However, the mainstream media of the USA has largely remained neutral because of Chinese dollars. India has to tame their anarchist section of the population to be taken seriously in international circles.
Indian military hasn’t been used outside India to proactively protect India’s interests. That fact also hasn’t gone down well with American policy makers. Terror emanating from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh are the issues that Indian policy makers must address. The world expects not only a sound national policing but also international policing from India if India has to be taken as a serious global player.
