CHICAGO: Punjabi Cultural Society of Chicago (PCS), an all-volunteer community service organization which aims to promote Punjabi culture within the Indian community, formed its working board for the year 2019 naming Harwinder Paul Singh Lail as its new President.
Others \who have been elected to the board are Vick Singh as Vice President Parvinder Singh Nanua as Executive Secretary, Manjeet Singh Bhalla as Finance Director, Bhupinder Singh Dhaliwal as Inter-Community Director, Navtej Singh Sohi as Assistant Executive Secretary, Bikram Singh Sohi as Assistant Finance Director, Gurlal Singh Bhattal as Youth Director and Parmjot Singh Parmar as Sports Director.
“I am looking forward to working with the Punjabi community to celebrate PCS’s 25th anniversary this year,” said Harwinder Paul Singh Lail
Vice President Vick Singh, who is also on the board of advisor, said: “We have a dedicated team working hard to show results in connecting our next generation to Punjabi roots through PCS programs.”
Upcoming activities include the PCS flagship event “Rangla Punjab 2019” on April 6 at College of DuPage Auditorium, Glen Ellyn. Sub-committees have been formed and item coordinators and youth volunteers have also been appointed.
The Bhangra and Giddha teams are practising are in full swing and about 250 local community youth performers are getting ready to entertain the audience, while learning Punjabi culture and networking with other youth from the community.
