WASHINGTON, DC: Congressmen Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) and Darin LaHood (R-IL) held a bipartisan joint Townhall at the John Marshall Law School in Chicago to discuss a range of issues facing Illinois and the nation.
John Williams of WGN Radio led the way as moderator, asking his own questions and those submitted by the audience on issues including immigration, taxes, the economy, and President Trump’s commutations.
“I’m glad Congressman LaHood and I could come together for an event focused on bipartisanship,
civility, and the real issues facing our country,” said Raja Krishnamoorthi. “So often in Washington, I see members on both sides refusing to speak with one another.
Congressman LaHood and I think our country deserves better and that’s why we embraced the chance to discuss a range of issues, including many we disagreed on, but with the civility Washington needs more of. I have always said that we can disagree without being disagreeable, and Congressman LaHood and I proved that again.”
