SAN JOSE, CA: One of the most popular voices and fondly known as ‘Magician of Melody’, Shaan is touring United States to raise opioid epidemic awareness. On July 21 at the San Jose Center for Performing arts, he enthralled a full house in Bay area. The concert to resound ‘Love’ was presented by Instant Karma, VIP Travels, LSJ Financial, Hari OM Entertainments and Dembi productions.
The concert kicked off with Stand up comedy by Neeti Palta. Her stand-up routines were a reflection of her life. The comedian ‘pretty much’ talks about life as it happens to her. This act was followed by melodious songs sung by playback singer Arpita Mukherjee, a popular contestant from Fame Gurukul. She charmed the audience with famous songs like Lag ja gale, Ghoomar and Pyaar karne waale.
While the audience was rejoicing the show, the star of the evening, and one of the most multi talented singers of India, Shaan hit the stage. Shantanu Mukherjee better known as Shaan, is an Indian playback singer active in Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Urdu, Telugu and Kannada films and a television host. He has hosted the shows Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs, Star Voice of India and STAR Voice of India 2.
Shaan is popularly known for his voices for romantic and melodious songs. He has lent his voice to many a hit songs in Bollywood, Suno Na (Jhankaar Beats), Chand Sifarish (Fanaa), and Behti Hawa Sa Tha Woh (3 Idiots), to name a few. He emerged in his dashing avatar, dancing to the tunes of his famous song Don from the movie Don, while he sang and kept the audience in high spirits. He sang some of the most prominent songs like Char kadam from PK, Kuch na kaho from 1942 – A Love Story and Tumko paya hai from Om Shanti Om. His enthralling performance went on for almost four hours and the nostalgia could be felt through his songs Woh pehli baar, Jab se tere naina and Chand sifarish. He kept the audience engaged by interacting with them and having them perform with him.
The overall theme of the show was ‘Love in Concert’ where through music talk Shaan spoke about love in its various aspects. Through songs and dance he celebrated different types of relationships that revolve around love, for example the love between mother-child, brother-sister and the patriotic love for your country.
The audiences were in for a little surprise as soon as Voice Kids India contestant from New Jersey, Ishaan Tangirala hit the stage. The 8 year old was lauded for melodiously singing of Albela Sajan. Ishaan started learning Hindustani Classical Music at an early age of 4 years under the tutelage of Hemant Kulkarni, NJ. He has won many awards in classical music across USA.
At the end of the show, Shaan thanked the national promoter Karl Kalra, local promoters, show partners, sponsors, media and the audience for their continuous support.
