SAN JOSE, CA: Bollywood singer Shreya Ghoshal gave a stunning performance at the October 7 concert at San Jose Center of Performing Arts. The concert was part of a pan national event organized by AAPI to bring all local chapters together and hold an educational and entertainment event. Events were held in nine different cities and highlights were educational seminars as well as high profile entertainment, which was provided by leading Indian singer Shreya Ghoshal. This was the last event of the series.
She sang all her hit songs and also took requests from audience. Everyone was spell bound by her Devdas songs and her performance in many languages. Jeffery Iqbal and Prithvi Gandharv supported Shreya Ghoshal during the concert. They are both accomplished singers with melodious voice.
During the day, educational seminars were held at nearby Hyatt Place. Dr. Hemant Dhingra, Dr. Vijay Tiwari and Dr. Akhil Wadhera were among leading Bay area doctors who made the event in San Jose possible. Many local luminaries including Dr. Japra attended the event.
American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) is an umbrella organization for all Indian origin physicians. It has chapters in over 30 cities. It has been acting as glue for all Indian origin physicians for over 25 years.
Dr. Narendra Kumar, President AAPI spoke to India Post on the occasion saying, “It took more than a year to plan. The event combined entertainment along with educational seminar in nine cities. It has brought all local chapters together with national AAPI. It also gives the confidence that together we can accomplish anything. We have also raised substantial revenue for organization work. Every city had a sold out event. In Dallas, we had 7000 people attending the concert. It has rebuilt the vitality and confidence in our leadership. There were a lot of people involved in making this successful. The event was possible only because of dedicated and commitment from Dr. Dhingra and others AAPI leaders.”
Indian Consul General Mr. Parthasarthy was also every impressed by the event and turn out. He said “Indian community can make impossible things possible. We appreciate AAPI and Dr. Narendra Kumar and others for doing a fantastic job. In Bay area, there is so much goodwill being created by such events.”
Such large scale events show significantly increasing influence of Indian community in US in all spheres of life.
