PACOIMA, CA: To pay homage to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings, the Sikh community of Southern California held a Memorial Prayer Vigil on Sunday, April 28 at Khalsa Care Foundation (KCF) in Pacoima, CA.
The community prayed for those who suffered the loss of loved ones, were injured, and to all those affected by the horrific attacks. They joined the nation during this time of adversity and also remembered in gratitude the sympathy and support they got during Sikh temple shooting in Wisconsin, from all Americans especially from President Barack Obama who went so far as to lower the American flags half-mast.
The ceremony included recitation of prayers and homage to the victims by the Sikh leaders of various Gurdwaras (the Sikh temples), university students, SALDEF (Sikh American defense and educational fund) and United Sikhs.
Executives (sevadars) of the KCF and especially Sirdars Gurdip Singh Malik and Surinder Singh were thanked for hosting the event and providing Guru Ka Langar, free meals.
