Deepika Padukone will be the first Indian celebrity from Bollywood to make it to an exclusive A-List area at London’s Madame Tussauds museum.
Usually, wax statues of Bollywood stars have a separate A-List enclosure that’s in the dedicated Bollywood section. But Deepika is all set to be the first Bollywood figure to “cross-over” to the main A-List, where her statue will be placed next to the likes of Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and other big names from the world of showbiz.
This special placement at Madame Tussauds is quite an honor for Deepika. Madame Tussauds official Twitter account announced the arrival of Deepika Padukone at their London museum. While the first news of this development broke out when Deepika posted on social media, a set of pictures that showed the museum’s process of measuring and capturing Deepika’s physical details.
Deepika’s statue will be unveiled at Madame Tussauds next year. With this special placement among international celebs, surely Deepika’s star will be on the rise in the West. She has an interesting slate of films coming next year too where she’s set to work with the likes of Irrfan, Vishal Bhardwaj, Ranbir Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali. Looks like exciting times ahead for DP.
