CHICAGO: To be a part of history by electing the First Asian American as the President of Schaumburg Township, a large number of Indian Americans from across Chicago land flocked to the residence of
Saurin Thakkar in Wayne to attend a fundraiser for Sunil Shan who is contesting Schaumburg Mayoral position.
What a great meeting of the minds, observed Dr Vijay Prabhakar, a leading supporter. “Really appreciate the community stalwarts who drove all the way to Wayne, Illinois from different parts of Chicagoland – Vernon Hills, Niles, Aurora, Naperville, Skokie and Chicago and held the meaningful discussion that reflected a spirit of comradeship and underlined the fact that real leaders are born again boosting the hope that we can accomplish our goals,” he added.
Extending his wholehearted support to Sunil Shah, a prominent community activist Sohan Joshi observed that Shah victory in Mayoral election will be a victory for the entire Indian American community as he would set an admirable example for the first and second generations of Indian Americans for taking an active part in mainstream politics.
Saurin Thakkar, the main host, proposed a vote of thanks observing that it would be in the fitness of things to see our own man get to the top position in Schaumburg Township.
Among the community elites attending the event were Sohan
Joshi , Ajeet Singh, Praveen Goyal, Ravi Raju, Amar Upadhaya, Acharya Rohit Joshi, Hina Trivedi ,Altafji, Jameel Ahamed, Rani Yousefzai, Dulce , and Youth leader Arhan Goyal, among others.
The meeting chalked out a strategic action plan to kick off the Schaumburg Campaign for Sunil Shah. The Vote is on April 2, 2019.
