ST LOUIS: Tamil Sangam of Missouri is a non-profit organization with a mission to promote and develop Tamil culture by bringing people together through social and cultural activities. It celebrated Pongal Vizha (harvest festival) in St. Louis on Sunday, January 26 at Fort Zumwalt East High School Auditorium in a grand manner
Close to 900 plus participants, members, guests and invitees were present with 150 plus kids performing a variety of programs reflecting Tamil culture and tradition, enthralling everybody present.
This year Pongal celebration included Vivadha Medai (debate) show conducted by Star Vijay TV fame Neeya Naana Gopinath. As always Gopinath show was very entertaining for the audience. Pongal Vizha celebration is also known for its traditional food that was served for dinner.
The support of the Tamil community in Missouri is growing every year and they are getting ready for the next big show FETNA 2014 in St. Louis.
