FREMONT, CA: R K Travels of Fremont, California organized the Travel Tourism Expo 2014 this past Sunday, February 9 at the Embassy Suites in Milpitas. The event, the first of its kind in the South Asian community, attracted a diverse group of 600 attendees.
“The Travel Tourism Expo is your ticket to the world, to learn about a variety of travel experiences, snap up travel deals, win trips, airline tickets, and giveaways, and be entertained with cultural performances. Whether you want to travel the world, or discover America like never before, you’ll meet the experts who can help you plan and book your next trip,” said the organizer, Poonam Bajaj of RK Travels.
There were a variety of booths at this event from the travel industry ranging from travel agents to airlines, nationwide land tour operators. The Rajasthan Association for promoting tourism to Rajasthan displayed a colorful booth with a very ethnic and attractive Rajasthani cultural theme.
In addition to travel and tourism information, side-by-side the event had a variety of entertainment throughout the day, with the hip-hop team of Rhythm G, a high energy dance and fitness company from the South Bay, Bay Area Singers singing melodious Bollywood songs, dance performances by Jyoti Kala Mandir College of Indian Classical Arts plus a DJ had the crowd on their toes.
Open to the public, the event offered free parking, free appetizers, and attractive prizes including tickets to shows, adventures around the Bay Area, museums, concerts, and the grand prize – a round trip ticket on Qatar Airways.
The Gold Sponsor was Qatar Airways who raffled one economy class round trip international airline ticket from any one of the US gateways they operate from. The Silver Sponsor was Magestic Vacations. City of Milpitas Mayor Jose Estevez graced the Travel Expo and presented a Commendation to the Expo organizer, Poonam Bajaj of R K Travels for promoting business in the City of Milpitas and Qatar Airways for being the Gold Sponsor. Mayor Estevez also pulled the winning ticket and the lucky winner was Dr. Deepak Sachdev.
Poonam Bajaj of R K Travels plans to organize the Travel Expo annually and plans are already underway for a grander event next year, the Travel Expo 2015.
