When Hrithik Roshan returned to the sets of ‘Bang Bang’ six months after an apparently freak accident that let to a brain surgery, no one expected him to be up for any daredevilry. But the actor left everyone awestruck when he jumped off the rooftops in Shimla on the very first day of the shoot.
To director Siddharth Anand’s delight, his hero was ready for anything. “Just tell me what you want and how you want it done,” was his constant refrain over the next few months as they went about filming the official remake of the Tom Cruise-Cameron Diaz action thriller, ‘Knight And Day’.
The film has several stunts, one of which has Hrithik on water skies being pulled along by a sky plane. It was shot in a lake in Prague. “Hrithik trained for four days, before the cameras rolled. He learnt to jetski with a speed boat pulling him along first. Then, an antiquated plane was brought in with an experienced pilot at the controls, so that it could be slowed down and speeded up at will. It was risky but worth the effort. The sequence is not out in the teaser yet,” says Siddharth.
Hrithik said, “In Bang Bang I have pushed myself to the extreme. This sequence called for mental and physical tenacity. The rush that I experienced while training and executing the sequence was out of the world.”
