CHICAGO: India American Center (IA), a Chicago-based no profit organization quite popular among south Asian population, celebrated Valentine’s Day on Wednesday, February 13 with lot of enthusiasm.
The near thee hours event emceed by Sudaksha Kapoor was attended by 150 seniors members and guests. Hamid Syed and Khokhar Mohammed addressed the gathering with Valentine speeches while songs befitting the Day were sung by a few talented signers among whom were Sabera Saiyed (mix love songs), Chunibhai Thakker sang Gujarati love song,, Raj Kumari (aye mere pyare watan), Malik Fidai sang love song, Naresh Shah (Valentine ghazal ), Sudha Baxi( ilu ilu ka matlab hai ), Sabera Saiyed, Adam Osman, (Valentine ghari suhani ) Mariya Christian (chali chali pyaar ki hawa chali ) Mir Ali (choudhavi ka chand ho) Mita Mehta (tera mera pyar amer), Mansoor Ghatur (yai dunia yai mahfil).
Delicious lunch was served which was prepared by Kamlash Kaur and Dupinder Kaur. Colorful and splendid decoration and set up was handled Kemal Horic. The entire program was coordinated by Gita Chawla.
