The fresh pairing of Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh in a vintage romance of Vikramaditya Motwane’s ‘Lootera’ has sparked a lot of interest. Industry insiders say the chemistry between the pair is subtle, but smoldering. The period drama, set in the 50s in snow-capped Dalhousie and charming Kolkata, exudes sensuality.
The chemistry between the lead pair is being compared to memorable screen pairs like Rajesh Khanna-Sharmila Tagore, Amitabh Bachchan-Rekha and Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol. Says Karan Johar, “It’s one of the most exciting lead pairs as they have completely opposite energies. But put together, they have passion written all over them. Romantically sexy is what Lootera seems to be. That is a rare feat to capture on celluloid.”
Says Vikramaditya, “For me, the most important thing in a love story is the intensity and passion that my actors bring into playing their characters. Ranveer and Sonakshi have portrayed their love to perfection like seasoned actors even though this is their first film together.”
