SAN JOSE, CA: A Spirit Events presented Valentine’s Party “Love Affair” on February 13 at Motif Lounge at San Jose Downtown. The event, a sold out show with over 500 people in the audience, rocked with Bollywood prince Vivek Oberoi and danced to the beats of Bollywood music all night.
With passion and love filling the air, couples danced to their hearts content. With red heart shaped balloons symbolizing deep and undying promises of love, the evening presented a romantic feel.
Celebrated February 14 every year, the Valentine’s Day is synonymous with expressions of love, friendship and bonding. It is named after Saint Valentine, a patron of love. “In our hectic schedule we hardly get quality time to spend with each other,” said Nirav Ghunshala, CEO of A Spirit Events. It is a good excuse to go back in time and get the romance back, he added.
A Spirit Events, which was started in 2010, has now emerged as a giant in the field of event management and entertainment. This is their 7th event and 1st independent event. “We are proud to bring the Bay Areans, a new level of service that will surpass all your expectations and anything you’ve seen before.
When it comes to event planning and event designing, A Spirit aims to exceed and excel with every event we organize,” said Preeti Kaur, Vice President Marketing at A Spirit Events.
Earlier in the evening, Vivek Oberoi interacted with the press, speaking at length on his debut, social and charity work, upcoming projects and his mission. In 2002, Vivek Oberoi exploded into Bollywood with the high-voltage crime-thriller, Company. The 38-year-old actor said he did not face any problem in playing a dark role because he feels he got maximum appreciation from audience by portraying such edgy roles in films like “Company” and Shootout at Lokhandwala.
“I enjoy doing such characters. I am constantly looking for roles which are new for me and challenging to do. With both successes and failures on the big screen for over a decade, he says the joy of social work and supporting charitable causes for others’ happiness is far more fulfilling than an award or reward for him. Vivek helped rebuild a village, which was hit severely by the 2004 tsunami in Tamil Nadu.
The actor also runs a school at Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh. Named Project Devi, the facility caters to over 3000 underprivileged girls abandoned by their families.
Vivek Oberoi has started supporting Children Across Borders (CAB) which is a non-profit organization founded by Vivek and Sharmila Seth, of Tampa, that provides financial and non-financial assistance to grass-roots organizations primarily in the areas of housing, health, education and wellness.
