JAMMU: Facing prospects of a stormy Monsoon Session of Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today acknowledged that there will be a ‘muqabla’ (contest).
Modi, who was here to commemorate the birth centenary of leader Girdhari Lal Dogra, stated this while sharing the dais with Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad and senior Congress leader from Jammu and Kashmir Karan Singh.
Making a strong pitch against ideological “untouchability” in politics, the Prime Minister noted that contradictions are the beauty of democracy.
Pointing towards the Congress leaders, he said, “We all are sitting here (including Azad), but just wait to see the ‘muqabla’ (contest) we will have in some days”.
Senior NDA ministers had yesterday huddled to chalk out strategy for pushing the government’s legislative business in the Monsoon Session beginning July 21, as opposition parties have closed ranks against it on various issues like the Vyapam scam, Lalit Modi controversy and the Socio Economic and Caste Census.–PTI
