The Consul General of India, San Francisco hosted an elegant celebration of 75th Indian Republic Day on Jan 27, 2024. Organized at the famous war memorial hall in San Francisco, the venue was in the backdrop of beautiful City Hall, bathed in the Indian national colors.
The event was attended by community leaders, businessmen, other Consulate officials, and elected officials from various parts of California. Event started by rendition of US and Indian national anthems and patriotic songs.
CG Dr Reddy congratulated the gathered Indian American community on the 75th Republic Day of India and thanked them for the great contribution that they were making to India’s growth story and to the strengthening of relationship between India and the US.
He then read out the President’s Address to the Nation. He drew attention to India’s successful host of G20 summits, advancements in space exploration with the Chandrayaan and Aditya missions, as well as the nation’s leadership in affordable data connectivity and digital infrastructure, like the Unified Payments Interface (UPI). Maryam Muduroglu, Chief of Protocol, San Francisco addressed the gathering. Various elected officials participated at the event and issued a commendation to Dr Reddy, CGISF.
The event culminated in a rousing cultural presentation by “TaalSutra”, sponsored by the FOG, and performances by Arundhati Parmar (Manipuri), Mousumi Bose (Odissi), Portia Banerjee (Bharatanatyam), and Urmi Chakraborty (Kathak), which earned enthusiastic applause. The celebrations ended with a sumptuous dinner graciously hosted by the Consulate General of India.
