The South Asian Network (SAN) Small Business Support Program provides education and hands-on training and mentorship to aspiring entrepreneurs wanting to become business owners & operators. Through interactive workshops on the essentials of starting & growing a business, we provide critical information & understanding about various financial products and the importance of building credit and avoiding or reducing debt. In addition, our seasoned small business counselors provide personalized one-on-one counseling and practical financial education helping small business owners learn and be empowered with real-world tools to start, sustain, and scale their business ventures.
Currently, the program is working with over 15 entrepreneurs, helping them secure capital, assisting them with small business loan applications, qualifying them as LA County vendors, strengthening their business plans, helping them learn about cash flow management, and building strong credit profiles. By focusing on high-impact skills such as budgeting, marketing strategies, digital presence, and debt management, SAN empowers entrepreneurs to make smarter business decisions and compete in today’s fast-changing marketplace.
Among several entrepreneurs becoming business owners is the success story of Vinita Dass, founder and owner of Vinita’s Kitchen LLC. Vinita’s kitchen is the first & the only pop up shop in downtown Los Angeles offering Desi delicacies. Vinita was mentored and trained by SAN’s expert staff and she’s now on her way to grow her business, expand her customer base, and build a stronger brand presence in the community.
All of SAN’s services are available for free and to everyone who aspires to become financially independent by becoming a business owner / operator.
“At SAN, we believe that when small businesses thrive, our entire community grows stronger. This program is not only helping entrepreneurs build sustainable futures but also fostering economic empowerment of South Asian and immigrant communities in southern California,” said Shakeel Syed, Executive Director.
SAN invites the entire community to avail our Small Business Support Program. We not only welcome existing business owners/operators but also aspiring entrepreneurs.
“Supporting small business owners is at the heart of our mission. We are proud to see our community beginning to take charge of their financial lives & become financially independent by starting &/or growing their businesses,” said Sufian Mohammad, Small Business Program Manager, SAN.
