FREMONT, CA: Ro Khanna, a Silicon Valley Democrat will run for Congress in 2014 against longtime incumbent Rep. Mike Honda. Rahul Roy, Chief Technology Officer of American Reprographics Corporation (ARC) and Chief Executive officer of MirrorPlus Technologies, the software development arm of ARC, hosted a gala dinner on May 3 at his Fremont residence. The event was attended by eminent professionals from all facets of life to endorse Ro Khanna for the Congress run in 2014.
Ro’s commitment to service is rooted in the belief that the American Dream that inspired his family should continue to inspire future generations, says Rahul Roy, host of the event. He says Silicon Valley is full of innovation and it needs effective representation in Congress and Ro would do a fitting job.
The core team comprising of Rahul Roy, Dr Romesh Japra, Anil Yadav, Inder Dosanjh, Dr Raj Salwan, Mahesh Pakala and Yogi Chugh endorsed Ro Khanna for his 17th Congressional District run in 2014. The core group announced their decision on financial and campaign support for Ro on his race. Dr Romesh Japra spoke on how Indo-Americans are there in all walks of life and now it’s our time to serve US politics. Supervisor Richard Valle, Mayor of Fremont Bill Harrison, Vice-mayor of Fremont Anu Natarajan, Assembly member Bill Quirk graced the occasion and endorsed Ro for the race.

He said United States in 20 years down the line would look diverse as Fremont is today. Our top priority as a nation must be to promote economic growth so that it can bring good jobs bring to middle-class families and those who hope to reach the middle-class.
We should allow companies that have money overseas to bring it back to the United States at a lower tax rate, but only if they invest in creating American jobs. We should provide tax incentives for long-term capital investments in innovation, start-ups, and manufacturing. On Educational front, we have to expect more from our students when it comes to learning math and science. We need a cultural change in our approach to education.
