SANTA CLARA: Shiv Durga Mandir, Santa Clara had organized a special havan and aarti on May 25 thereby sending best wishes to the newly elected Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Sunday afternoon celebration was attended by over 400 Bay Area devotees and special guests from all over Bay area.
Pandit Krishna Kumar Pandey is the founder, president of Shiv Durga temple and is involved in community services all over the Bay and had organized this grand celebration for Modi. He hails from a family of priests from Northern India and is the third generation priest in this family dynasty. He is an Acharya in Vedic Religion and Astrology from Sanskrit University Varanasi, India.
Ganapathi Havan was started around 12:00 pm and many prayed for the bright future of India and United States. This was followed by talks by special guests from all over Bay. The guest list includes Jose Esteves, Mayor of Milpitas, Fred Flower, and Former Mayor of Sunnyvale, Teresa Cox, Dr Dharam Salwan, Narendra Pathak, Rishi Kumar, Sanjay Tripathi, Sandeep Khandekar, Mahendra Yogi and California 17th congressional district candidate Ro Khanna. The guests spoke on the mandate received by Narendra Modi and wished for his success and their dream to see growing India.
Narendra Modi’s victory in India’s General Election has proved that Indian democracy can deliver a mandate for good governance, said Ro Khanna. He urged people to come out and vote on June 3 primaries. This was followed by Maya Aarti and Preeti Bhoj sponsored by Dr Rameshwar Singh.
