CHICAGO: Heading a delegation of four top ranking Indian officials, Dr T.K. Chandrashekar, Secretary, Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Department of Science and Technology, was in Chicago recently and had held a series of meetings at Northwestern University in Evanston, a north side suburb of Chicago.
Dr Chandrashekar visited USA from June 24 to July 3. He was accompanied by Rajiv Sharma, Executive Director, Indo-US S&T Forum, Dr R K Tayal, Advisor, Department of Science & Technology, R Varadarajan, Controller, Indo-US S&T Forum and Dr Nishritha Bopana of Indo-US S&T Forum.
The delegation held meetings at Northwestern University, Evanston on Indo-US Center for Research Excellence in Science and Engineering (CRESE) on Advanced Materials Research, on the S.N. Bose Scholars Program and on SERB outreach. The delegation called on Dr Ausaf Sayeed, Consul General of India, on June 26 and briefed him on the ongoing programs at the Northwestern University, the University of Wisconsin at Madison and the SERB outreach program.
The delegation traveled to Madison for meetings at University of Wisconsin at Madison, to Great Lakes Bio-energy Research Center and for interaction with S.N. Bose scholars and thereafter to Purdue University, West Lafayette Indo-US Center for Research Excellence in Science and Engineering (CRESE), on Nano materials for energy, S.N. Bose Scholars Program SERB outreach.
